What Happened
Why did DHL Globalmail stop taking EU parcels?
From 1 July 2026, the EU requires all B2C parcels under €150 to carry a €3 customs duty per item type. Carriers that can’t collect and remit this fee under a Delivered Duty Paid model have no clean way to handle the charge.
Rather than passing unexpected duty charges onto recipients at the door, DHL pulled the Globalmail UK→EU lane on 24 June while it builds out its DDP capability. The lane remains suspended.
The practical result for Globalmail sellers: a week of frozen EU orders, with no guaranteed restart date.
